Ongoing Events - Citizen Education Workshops
Citizens for a Green Mount Airy introduces its series of free public seminars related to environmental issues, specifically focusing on what individuals and families can do to live in ways that are more environmentally friendly and thus healthier. Citizens may attend the seminars at their own leisure and interest; however, individuals who attend each seminar in the series will be bestowed with "Green Citizen" status! Seminars will include accompanying educational guides. Tuition is free, though donations to help get this grassroots organization off the ground will be gratefully accepted. For questions or to suggest ideas for future workshops, please email Tim Richards at tim@greenmountairy.org or call (301)471-2960. Ideas for future workshops include: a citizen's guide to alternative energy; the importance of the local economy; healthy eating 101.

Come learn about what organic means, what organic food is, why it is important, and how you can learn to shop for organic products and become organic yourself - something great for your health and the earth. Most deliciously of all, you will be able to sample your subject matter!" Workshop #1 happened on Wednesday, May 30 from 7:30-8:30 p.m. in the small meeting room at the Mt. Airy Public Library.
